A Bit About Opal

Opal has been a popular gem for many centuries and has a very interesting structure. Opal is considered a mineraloid because this structure is not truly crystalline. Opal stones are among the visually most attractive gemstones and come in many variations. Due to the relative rarity of some of the variations of opal they can be quite expensive. A special type of opal is fire opal. The name comes from its typical fire red color. The fire opal stones can have a range of colors from yellow, through orange to deep red color.

Folklore says opal is a stone of protection, faithfulness and loyalty. It is thought that opals can enhance super sensible vision and creativity. Like malachite , opals are mystical gemstone with high vibrations.
